International High School prides itself on a school culture that respects diversity and celebrates the multicultural atmosphere of Paterson. Students attending this academy are required to strive to be conversant in a language other than their native language.  Project-based instruction is embedded in the Secondary Education Core Curriculum, as well as thematic electives, International Law and Business Courses. Senior year instruction explores the study of world conflicts and the United Nations. Focus is placed on key-life skills, such as oral speaking, presentations, research and debate. A rigorous academic program, with an emphasis on the ever changing global economy, will prepare International High School students for a successful post-secondary experience.

The vision of International High School in the 21st Century is to provide a comprehensive education to facilitate student success in academic, business, and vocational endeavors. International High School students Will achieve in an environment that respects and celebrates diversity, maintains high academic standards, ensures the students’ physical and psychological safety, and provides a dynamic range of educational subjects and opportunities.
